Photography

Photography should be simple, uncluttered, authentic, unpretentious, friendly and fun. Imagery should be consistent with Big Apple’s northern New England blue collar/middle American audience.

All photography should be double checked for optimal resolution for end usage.

Use clear, crisp product shots and professionally photographed food images on white backgrounds. Food images should not be enclosed in shapes or cropped except in full bleed uses.

People must look authentically northern New England and preferably display an attitude of sincere friendliness and enjoyment of life. (These qualities may look a bit different on native New England faces than on faces from other parts of the United States.) Dogs and babies are always winners.

Visual Style

Colors should be fully saturated; neither washed out nor overly punchy.

Composition should be straight-forward but well-cropped.

Lighting should look natural tending toward bright.

Focus should be sharp. Narrow depth of field is not recommended.

Filters are not recommended.
